Clash between activists, developer’s security guards, and police in Poltava. VIDEO

About 300 activists held rally at 37 Sobornosti Street in Poltava around 7 p.m. on March 5. They were protesting against redevelopment of the archway at this address.

As reported by Censor.NET the activists posted the footage of their clash with security guards hired by the developer and police officers.

According to a local resident, the developer blocked the archway which the residents of the apartment house used to access their courtyard. Besides, the fencing was also denying access for ambulances or fire fighting vehicles.

The National Police reported about three victims in the clash. One person was stabbed, another one received head injury (presumably inflicted by a wooden stick). A patrol police officer was injured as well. He presumably had his nose broken after being punched to the face. All the injured were taken by the ambulances to the local hospitals. The police detained a total of eight people who took active part in the fighting from both sides.

About nightfall, the protesters managed to demolish part of the fencing in the archway.
