The performance took place at the Metro bridge in Kyiv. The participants formed a symbolic chain uniting two banks of the Dnipro River, Censor.NET reports.
They also rolled out huge portraits of the historical political figures (Ivan Mazepa, Stepan Bandera, Yevhen Konovalets) and banners with slogans about the unity of Ukraine.
On Jan. 22, 1919, the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western-Ukrainian People's Republic signed the Unification Act. The Day of Unity of Ukraine is celebrated every year on Jan. 22 to mark the signing of this treaty.
