US diplomat’s wife crafts gingerbread miniature of Kyiv’s Andriivskyi Descent. VIDEO

U.S. diplomat's wife, a Crimean Tatar-American Velida Kent created a miniature of Andriivskyi Descent in Kyiv using gingerbread cookie dough.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Krym.Realii, the project includes 40 houses, St. Andrew's and Pokrovska Churches, and the residence of the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine.

Kent started crafting eatable landmarks since 2008, when she lived in Thailand. She has been able to create miniatures of St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Kyiv, a temple in Laos, the Registan public square in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), the U.S. Capitol, and Warsaw's Old Town.

Khan's Palace in Bakhchisarai was specially created by the American after the annexation of Crimea in 2014. The U.S. diplomat's wife decided to create gingerbread miniature of St. Michael's Cathedral in Kyiv for its important role during Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity. The Kents presented the miniature to Ukraine's embassy in the U.S.
