A memorial board in honor of People's Hero of Ukraine Ihor Ivanov was opened at school #4 in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa region.

Censor.NET reports citing Radio Svoboda.

City authorities representatives, Ihor's friends ​​and school students honored the memory of the Hero with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the installed memorial board.

Ihor Ivanov was killed on May 2, 2014 during riots in Odesa. He participated in the events of Feb. 19-20 at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. He was also was a member of the Odesa Right Sector. He was posthumously awarded with non-government order "People's Hero of Ukraine" for outstanding achievements in the defense of the Ukrainian independence on Oct. 13, 2015.
