Local residents informed about a large amount of military equipment that arrived via ferry and proceeded deeper into the peninsula. According to eyewitnesses, a railroad train of military equipment was spotted at the railway station on Aug. 6. On the same evening, a large convoy of Russian military vehicles drove through the residential neighborhoods to leave Kerch.
According to human rights activists, movement of military equipment through civilian areas poses certain threats and is prohibited by the international humanitarian law.
