A group of experts is needed to prove whether the reactor was damaged, a high-ranking source close to the NPP said.

However, the main problem is that the final decision will be made by Russians.

"Russians are building it - our organizations are performing subcontract works. The general contractor is Russia. Russians will make the final decision," the source noted.

The Atsravets NPP is being built just 10 kilometers from the border with Lithuania and 50 kilometers from Vilnius.

As reported by currenttime.tv, Lithuania's Foreign Ministry handed a protest note to the Belarusian ambassador. Lithuanian authorities insist on a thorough investigation of the incident and say that its results should be available to all the neighboring states and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
