This was announced by Speaker of Verkhovna Rada Andrii Parubii, Censor.NET's correspondent informs.
The parliament has renamed a number of settlements in the Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Kharkiv regions, in temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the city of Kirovohrad.
"The bill has been passed, the regulation has been adopted. We have worked our way up here. We offered the required periods for discussions. We have passed all the required way on decommunization.
"Today the parliament showed it is a Ukrainian parliament, able to make decisions. We have finished our part of decommunization. Glory to Ukraine!" the speaker announced.
He also thanked the Radical party and Batkivshchyna factions of the parliament, who temporarily stopped blocking the rostrum and voted for the bill.
Parubii informed that from today on, Kirovohrad city will be named Kropyvnytskyi.
"The committee decided on the name Kropyvnytskyi. From now on, Kirovohrad will be named Kropyvnytskyi," the speaker said.
