 "This countercharge has been planned long time ago, it's not that we freaked out and attacked," - Ukrainian Army soldiers tell about seizure of militant's position and death of Paris opera singer Wassyl Slipak. VIDEO

Military of the 1st battalion of the 54th mechanized brigade told about their successful assault of a "DPR" militants' position called 'Murashnyk.'

As reported by Censor.NET citing Hromadske TV, the battalion launched the countercharge in two flanks. This turned out unexpected for terrorists and they fled from their positions. Ukrainian soldiers were holding the Murashnyk position for four hours, and retreated after receiving the order.

The Ukrainian military incurred losses - two killed and 11 wounded. They were able to take everyone out of there. In the militants' trenches they found not only documents of "Donetsk People's Republic" soldiers, but also passports of two Russian lieutenants.

It was this engagement when Paris opera singer Wassyl Slipak, call sign Meph, was killed.
