"The mentioned persons were in full gear, armed with riot control weapons, but without insignia. They arrived by buses with Kyivpastrans logos. They ignored the demand to identify themselves and severely beaten our members of the council instead. We invited crime scene investigation team, but the police and the National Guard did not even lift a finger. According to some reports, these "titushkas" in the uniforms were members of Livyi Bereh security firm," Chairman of the Svoboda faction in the Kyiv City Council Yurii Syrotiuk said.
Later, the press service of the political force added that the law enforcers took the intruders in the Shevchenkivskyi district police precinct in Kyiv (9, Hertsen Street). The city council members injured by the "titushkas" also headed there to give testimony. Besides, Kyiv Police Chief Andrii Kryshchenko arrived at the Kyiv City Council and promised that the attackers would be established.
Svoboda party representatives also noted that city council member Oleh Helevei was taken by the ambulance after the attack.
Meanwhile, the Kyiv police reported that it were the discontented businessmen, who were protesting outside Kyiv City Council against ban on booze sales in kiosks.
According to police, one security guard received injury during clash. He was administered first aid.
