Four militants apprehended, cache of terrorist’s subversive group found in Avdiivka raid. VIDEO

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine together with detachments of the National Guard, National Police, and Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a special operation in Avdiivka Dec. 21, 2015 to prevent acts of sabotage against the city's facilities.

Censor.NET reports citing the press office of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The officers of the security agency questioned over a hundred local residents checking information on their possible membership in the "DPR"/"LPR" terrorist organizations. As a result of the operation, the law enforcement officers established direct involvement of four of questioned persons in the activities of the illegal armed groups.

A cache with explosives, Russian-made food, cigarettes with the symbols of the so-called "Novorossia," and uniforms of the Ukrainian troops were also found during the operation.

According to the situation report, the cache was in store for a subversive group of the so-called "DPR". The militants planned to commit a series of terrorist attacks against infrastructure facilities of Avdiivka this week disguised as soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The urgent investigative action is underway.
