Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a citizen of the Russian Federation, who was a member of the 'DPR' illegal armed terrorist organization, near the village Slavne (Marinka district of the Donetsk region).

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the SBU.

The militant nicknamed Rumyn, who was a Russian citizen, was wearing a military uniform of the Russian Army and had RPG-26 and F-1 grenades with him at the moment of detention.

He said that he was recruited by the FSB to participate in the hostilities as a member of the 'DPR' illegal armed terrorist organization while serving his sentence in a penal colony in Russia.

The mercenary kept watch at observation posts of the militants as a part of the terrorists' Oplot division and tracked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also corrected artillery fire at positions of the ATO forces in the village Taramchuk (Marinka district of the Donetsk region).

With time, he discovered the low morale of the terrorists, the lack of prospects for the self-proclaimed republic, outright lies about the real situation in the Donbas by pro-Russian media and decided to surrender to the ATO forces.
