The dogs are taught to reveal weapons and explosives. Canine handlers and their 'pupils' have conducted several trips to the front line.

This was reported by Channel 5, Censor.NET reports.

Search dogs Khaiki, Boni, and Lewis of the Ivano-Frankivsk police canine center together with their trainers have conducted several trips to the Eastern Ukraine. They monitored for weapons and explosives at checkpoints. Khaiki the shepherd was the first to be involved in similar activities in August 2014.

Labrador's Boni instructor is proud with his 'pupil' - Boni has smelled about 600 bullets in criminals' belongings. Together they examined up to 200 cars per day at a checkpoint in the Donbas.

The training for the Carpathian police dogs will continue until May. Then, together with instructors, they will go on new missions to the Donbas.
