"Russian Emergencies Ministry called the latest stage of the operation to provide humanitarian assistance to the Donbas successful, despite the fact that it took place under difficult weather conditions and took almost 24 hours from the moment of departure of the column from Don Rescue Center of the Ministry until its return back.
"More than 120 cars that brought over 1,400 tons of humanitarian aid to Donetsk and Luhansk, came back empty to the Rostov region. According to TASS correspondent, the local residents awaiting the 11th humanitarian convoy of the Emergency Ministry not only thanked the rescuers, but also helped them to overcome the most difficult parts of the route. For example, in the Luhansk region residents came out of their houses with buckets and shovels, and the sprinkled the path of the column with sand and salt, throwing them under the wheels of the trucks.
The eleventh column delivered Christmas gifts for children of Donetsk and Luhansk, which included toys and sweets, food such as meat, fish, milk, canned milk products, baby food, seven kinds of cereals, pasta, pastries, as well as daily necessities and medicines. The humanitarian aid will be distributed to schools, kindergartens, canteens, hospitals and other social facilities," ITAR-TASS reports.
