This was stated by Deputy Minister and Chief of Staff of theInternal Affairs of Ukraine Serhii Chebotar, Censor.NET reportsciting thepress service of the Ministry.
The DeputyMinister stated that the law enforcement agency is confrontingpolicemen who betrayed the oath, particularly through beinginvolved in corruption schemes, drug trafficking, and otheroffenses.
"We are doing everything in order to ensure that people who donot abide the law will not work in the police. There can be nocompromise with them. Recently we dismissed a number of policemenwho were involved in corruption schemes in the Khmelnytskyi andKherson regions. In the Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions lawenforcement officers were involved in drug trafficking schemes. Inthe Ternopil region there was a policeman who tried to get almost40 thousand hryvnias for closing criminal proceedings. All officerswere dismissed from their positions," Chebotar said.
He also noted that now the Ministry of Internal Affairs isintroducing a system of personnel inspection, fighting corruption,and a system that will allow to perform the tasks posed by thecountry's leadership.
