"I express my sincere solidarity with Yulia Tymoshenko," stressed Romanian President Traian Băsescu during a meeting with her daughter Yevheniya and the former Vice Prime Minister Hryhoriy Nemyrya in Bucharest. According to Batkivschyna press service, Băsescu stated that "in democratic countries politicians are not prosecuted. Democratic countries have no political prisoners. We condemn this practice." He noted that he keeps track of Tymoshenko's struggle for democracy and asked Yevheniya to pass on his complete support to her mother.
In her turn she thanked the Romanian President for support and told him about the situation in Ukraine. In particular she passed on her mother's statement that the parliamentary elections in Ukraine are already falsified. "We thank you for your support and ask you not to stop your struggle for European Ukraine with democratic values and without political prisoners," said Yevheniya.
Hryhoriy Nemyrya underlined that the government of Yulia Tymoshenko was effectively cooperating with Romania and other EU countries in realizing its European future. "But now Yanukovych's regime is trying to destroy Tymoshenko as well as the European dream of our country," said Nemyrya.
Yevheniya Tymoshenko and Hryhoriy Nemyrya will take part in the Congress of the largest Euro Parliament party that will take place on October 17-18 in Bucharest. Within the framework of the Congress Nemyrya and Tymoshenko will meet with EU leaders and European politicians.
