"These individuals committed a number of robberies in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions in 2017. They received information on the targets from the inside men, studied the victims' habits, daily routine, mapped their places. The crime ring members used uniforms of the police special operations forces to disguise themselves," Zolotonosha said.
He clarified that the perpetrators were detained on Tuesday, Nov. 28, after they robbed the house of a 31-year-old local resident. The attackers tied the woman with cable ties and forced her to hand over the money and jewelry by threatening her with electric stunning device and firearms.
As noted, the law enforcement officers have already conducted search and seizure operations in apartments and cars of the criminals. Weapons, uniforms, smoke bombs, license plates and valuables stolen from the victims have been seized.
The detainees are suspected of committing five crimes including the robbery-related assault on the family of a member of the Nikopol district council in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
