 Crimea pays last tribute to Crimean Tatar liberation struggle veteran Vedzhie Kashka who died in Russian police operation. PHOTOS

The farewell ceremony for Vedzhie Kashka, a veteran of the Crimean Tatar national movement was held in the village of Novoklenivka in Crimea’s Belohirsk district on Friday, Nov. 25.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Krymska Solidarnist association, Crimean Tatars from all over the peninsula came to say farewell to her. The villagers hung out Crimean Tatar flags expressing solidarity and condolences to the family of Kashka.

As reported, Kashka got sick during detention of Crimean Tatar activists on Nov. 23. The ambulance took her away from the scene and she reportedly later died.
