Another stage in reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been completed after the defense minister's order regulating wearing of military clothes and insignia was officially approved and entered into force. It all started with the development of new military uniforms eventually approved by the president on July 5, 2016. That day was a jumping-off point for the long and painstaking effort made by the directorate members to develop and approve the new military uniforms wearing regulations. It took them over a year to develop these guidelines and have them approved by the defense minister's order replacing the old one of June 12, 1995.
The agency also said that the new rules regulated wearing of new elements of the uniform introduced in 2013. They also introduced completely new symbols; insignia; berets, their colors and purpose; a new approach to chevrons; new military ranks insignia and their alignment on shoulder boards. Special attention was paid to the regulations addressing the beards and mustache issue.
