"After visiting the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in late September, I set a priority for the military prosecutor's office to hold accountable all those involved in corruption during construction of the second line of defense at the front-line.
Zaporizhia Deputy Governor was the first indicted on embezzlement charges under this case.
Today we indicted the Capital Construction Management chief and senior officer of the Volyn region's Technical Inspection Bureau who were in charge of the project and supervised the construction of fortifications in the Volodarka district of the Donetsk region.
"The enquiry found that these individuals in collusion with former Sector M commander acted for the benefit of private companies that have eventually constructed ten temporary firing positions unfit for combat operations as they posed threat to life and health of servicemen.
"The officials caused damage to the state worth 6,977,000 hryvnia (about $258,000). The investigation and relevant search and seizure operations are underway," he wrote.
