A Russian diplomat hit a woman on a pedestrian crossing in downtown Kyiv Nov. 12.

Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov wrote on Facebook citing a source familiar with the matter.

The source said the accident occurred at the intersection of Staronavodnytska Str. and Kutuzova Str. in Kyiv at 5:20 p.m. on Nov. 12. Attache of the Russian Embassy in Ukraine Mukhamadeyev Chingiz Uralovich, driving a Volkswagen Passat, hit a Ukrainian national Andrianova, born in 1959. She was later taken to the hospital with a bruised chest and wrist fracture.

The eyewitnesses said that Russian diplomat tried to bribe the injured woman to keep the matter quiet and escape responsibility as he hit her on a crosswalk.

The National Police registered criminal proceedings and informed the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
