This was announced by press secretary of PGO Larysa Sarhan on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
She posted a photo of a "golden shovel" that was found during a search in the home of former deputy prosecutor general's father and said Renat Kuzmin and another official have been indicted.
"The prosecutor's office of the Cherkasy region under the procedural guidance of the PGO is conducting pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on suspicion to former first deputy of the prosecutor general of Ukraine and director of State Enterprise Pushcha Vodytsia Recreation Complex for committing particularly grave and serious crimes under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, part 2 and 3 article 209, part 3 of article 358, part 1 of article 366 and other articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," she reported.
Pre-trial investigation found that in 2008-2010 Kuzmin, as deputy and first deputy of the prosecutor general of Ukraine, in collusion with the director of Pushcha Vodytsia recreation complex, seized 1.0457 hectares of recreational land in the complex and built a residential house with of 1,068 square meters. These actions inflicted damage to the state of more than 1.2 million hryvnia.
At this time, Kuzmin's whereabouts were not established by the investigation, therefore, a restraint measure for him will be selected in absentia.
