A total number of people that have been transferred from penitentiary institutions in occupied areas of the Donbas has reached 166 prisoners, plus 12 people from Russia-occupied Crimea.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Ombudsman.

The prisoners who were transferred on Sept. 14 have earlier voiced their desire to be moved from terrorists-controlled prisons to government-controlled areas. A total of 19 prisoners were transferred today.

Ombudsman Valeriia Lutkovska has initiated nine such transfers from so-called "Donetsk People's Republic," which resulted in moving 166 people from there and 12 more prisoners from Russia-occupied Crimea, the press service reported.
