Chemical weapons containers were spotted at the Syrian government airbase destroyed by U.S.missile strike on April 7.

Russian propagandist El Murid wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"If these pictures are taken by our journalists, then it looks like they've screwed up. One can clearly see chemical weapons containers against the background of the destroyed hangars. It does not matter much that they might be old and lie there for several years. What is important that they are Syrian and they were being stored at the same airbase the West claims," he wrote.

On April 7, U.S. warships launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at a Syrian government airbase following a chemical airstrike in the province of Idlib blamed on President Assad.

UNICEF confirmed at least 27 children had been killed in the attack in Idlib.

The United States' Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, said the response was "fully justified" and warned that the U.S. was prepared to do more but hoped that it would not come to that. "The United States will not stand by when chemical weapons are used. It is in our vital national security interest to prevent the spread and use of chemical weapons," Haley said.
