Censor.NET reports quoting presidential press secretary Sviatoslav Tseholko.
"The president has presented state awards to the military and rescue workers who distinguished themselves defending Avdiivka," he said.
As Poroshenko's press service reported later, the head of state thanked soldiers of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade for the courage and heroism displayed while defending Avdiivka from Russian terrorist forces, as well as rescue workers who, despite constant shelling, did their best to help the residents of the city.
He called the actions of Russian terrorist forces another provocation intended to shift the blame for violating the cease-fire onto the Ukrainian side.
Poroshenko awarded an Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi to Commander of the 72nd Brigade, Colonel Andrii Sokolov, Commander of the brigade's mechanized battalion Oleksandr Vdovychenko and other soldiers of the brigade.
