"He is a civil society activist who reported about raids in Bakhchysarai over the loudspeaker of the mosque (when Ilmi Umerov was arrested and taken away as a suspect in the case of Hizb ut-Tahrir) and was later fined 20,000 RUB (about $335) by the Bakhchysarai court. His mother Zodie Salieva is a national movement veteran," Kurbedinov wrote on Facebook.

It was later reported that Russian traffic police officers stopped the car of lawyers Edem Semedliaev and Emil Kurbedinov, who were heading to Saliev's house where the search was underway. They were subsequently detained by the FSB members.

According to the report, several dozen armed men in the courtyard were preventing residents from leaving the apartment house.

"The search is underway at home of national movement activist Zodie Salieva and her son Seiran. The FSB is conducting the search. There are several dozen heavily-armed men in the courtyard. Ordinary people have come to support the family. They say the law enforcers do not let Seiran's pregnant wife, who spent a month in a hospital over possible miscarriage and bleeding, to leave the apartment. She has been recently discharged from the hospital. The people faced rude and offensive behavior of the law enforcers when requested them to let her leave the apartment. The court earlier ruled to fine Seiran Saliev 20,000 RUB as he came to support Salachyk Cafe owner in Bakhchysaray during the search on May 12, 2016," journalist Elvina Seitbullaeva wrote.
