 Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, OSCE’s Kurz travel to Donetsk region. PHOTOS

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria Sebastian Kurz left for Mariupol.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by Ukraine's Foreign Ministry on Twitter.


Earlier, the Foreign Ministry reported that Klimkin and his Austrian counterpart had met in the Dnipro City International Airport.


Klimkin and Kurz will discuss deployment of the OSCE armed police mission in the Donbas during their visit to the Donetsk region on Jan. 3 and 4.

As Austria assumes chairmanship in the OSCE, the visit to the Donetsk region is to inform the Austrian Foreign Minister on the progress of the Minsk agreements implementation, the socio-economic situation in the region under Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, and implementation of charitable projects with the participation of Austrian humanitarian organizations.

As Austria has taken over as the 2017 OSCE Chairmanship, the foreign ministers will discuss Austria's efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in and around Ukraine, including the deployment of the OSCE armed police mission in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, strengthening capability of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.
