Speaker for Ukraine's Defense Ministry on anti-terrorist operation (ATO) issues Andrii Lysenko told a briefing today, Censor.NET reports.
"Luhansk direction: the clashes took place only in the vicinity of Popasna between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. yesterday. The enemy committed four attacks on two our positions using light armament and armored vehicles," he said.
"Donetsk direction: unlike previous days, the enemy committed attacks across the entire frontline in this direction. The militants continue routinely breaching truce at the Svitlodarsk salient, Horlivka outskirts, Avdiivka's industrial zone and approaches to the Donetsk airport. Luhanske, Novhorodske and Avdiivka came under mortar strikes," the ATO speaker reported.
"Svitlodarsk salient remains the area of constant attacks on our positions. Their intensity occasionally varies. We obtained reports on Grad multiple rocket launchers deployed in the given frontline area, but the enemy has not used them so far," Lysenko described the situation at the Svitlodarsk salient.
A total of 15 enemy attacks, including five strikes with heavy weapons, were committed in Donetsk direction over the past 24-hour period. 46 mortar shells hit positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"Mariupol direction: almost all enemy attacks took place at the section of the frontline between Pavlopil and Shyrokyne yesterday. The enemy used heavy weapons - mortars and cannon artillery - in the morning and at night. About 80 mortar shells and several cannon projectiles were fired upon our positions. The situation in Shyrokyne was the most challenging as the enemy was intermittently firing at this village for more than six hours," the press officer said.
A total of 25 enemy attacks, including eight strikes with heavy weapons, were committed in Mariupol direction over the past day.
The enemy drones were recorded flying in the ATO area yesterday.
