Law enforcers cut off arms supply chain from ATO zone to Kyiv larger area. PHOTOS

The Military Prosecutor's Office curtailed illegal firearms trafficking from the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Ukraine’s east to Kyiv and its larger area.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine's Central Region.

"The Military Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv garrison of the Central region of Ukraine in conjunction with the operatives of the SBU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime carried out a special operation to unveil and terminate arms supply chain from the ATO area. The firearms were meant to be sold in Kyiv and its larger area," the statement reads.

The weapons were found in an arms cache in an abandoned building in Ivanky village in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"The law enforcers seized eight Kalashnikov rifles, spare parts for them, and two GP-25 under-barrel grenade launchers during the special operation," the agency reported.

The investigative actions to establish whether the firearms were stolen from the Ukrainian army detachments and identify all those involved in illegal arms trafficking are currently underway.
