19-year-old antiterrorist operation (ATO) soldier Vitalii Shostak, whom doctors have been trying to save for the last 20 days, died at the Dnipro City Mechnykov regional hospital today, on Nov.19.

Adviser to the Dnipropetrovsk governor Tetiana Huba wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"Our dear Vitalii has gone to heaven. The hero's heart stopped for the third time at 1 p.m., after 20 days of struggle for life. A young boy from the village of Maskivtsi, the Kyiv region, signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and started defending his country along with his elder brother. The Hero's life was taken by enemy's shelling. Vitalii turned 19 on Nov.6," she wrote.
