As reported by Censor.NET citing the press center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the SOF instructors were trained under the program of the Joint Multinational Training Group - Ukraine (JMTG-U) over six months.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Ihor Luniov, the representatives of partner-countries participating in the JMTG-U (United States, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia), commanders of Special Operations Forces' detachments, representatives of local authorities and self-government.
"The strongest and most experienced fighters are now in the ranks of the Special Operations Forces after six months of intense training," Luniov said.
"This is an important step towards the development of Special Operations Forces within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today's graduates are the backbone of the Special Operation Forces. These are the instructors who will train the next generation of SOF commandoes. We are making every effort to make the SOF an efficient weapon ready to counter challenges of the hybrid war which is underway in Ukraine's east. I am convinced that the high spirit of invincibility and brotherhood of arms will form the basis of the training and formation of SOF detachments," Major General Luniov stressed.
The SOF commander also said that the generalship of the Armed Forces of Ukraine succeeded in funding Special Operations Forces this year allowing the Special Operation Forces to open its own modern training center by the end of November.
