As reported by Censor.NET, Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko wrote on Facebook.
"PGO, SBU and National Police are involved in a joint operation (20 simultaneous searches) to document the crimes associated with supplies of overpriced cabling and wiring products of poor-quality to Ukrzaliznytsia," he wrote.
According to him, one single purchase inflicted 23.8 million hryvnia (about $915,000) worth damage to Ukrzaliznytsia.
"The offices and places of residence of the crime ring members as well as Ukrzaliznytsia departments which accepted the products without proper inspection are currently being searched. $1.5 million in cash has been seized from the corrupt practice mastermind," Lutsenko wrote.
