People's Deputy Oleh Petrenko (Petro Poroshenko Bloc) and Andrii Biletskyi (People's Front) declared their readiness to bail the head of the Kyiv office of Azov Civil Corps Serhii Filimonov, Censor.NET reports citing 112 TV Channel.
PGO insists on 60 days of arrest. Adjournment of the session was declared.
"As the law says, I am a person who deserves uberrima fides... I always fulfill my duties as a surety," Petrenko declared, according to Ukrainski Novyny.
As reported earlier, several people were injured in a mass brawl that took place between local residents and representatives near Kyiv's Sviatoshyn subway station Sept. 5. Later, the residents of the apartment building on 2 Sviatoshynskyi Lane blocked the entrance to the nearby forestry area Sept. 6. According to the activists, the so-called "titushky" hired by the developer captured the courtyard with the cars owned by local residents parked in it on Sept. 5. Subsequently, Sept. 7, the conflict turned into a clash between locals and the representatives of the developer intending to construct a multi-storey building in the parking area. The opposing parties employed stones and flash bang grenades as well as set tires on fire. 30 persons were detained after the initial clashes, Kyiv police reported.
The head of the Kyiv office of Azov Civil Corps Serhii Filimonov (nickname - Filia) was apprehended during the protest.
