Another two children were taken to the hospital. The investigation continues, while the driver was apprehended.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the National Police in the Chernihiv region.

"A car accident on the road between the villages of Lashuky and Smychyn was reported around 8:45 p.m.," the statement reads.

The police arrived to the scene. It was found out that the 45-year-old driver of Ford Focus vehicle was drunk, lost control and hit three minors (born in 2003, 2009, and 2013). As a result of the accident, the seven-year-old boy died at the scene, while two other minors got serious wounds and were taken to the Children's Hospital.

Blood test of the driver has shown an alcohol level of 5ppm. The driver was apprehended under article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The investigation is in progress.
