Ukrainian ex-official Kaskiv: “I was never detained or apprehended”. PHOTO

Ex-Head of the State Investment Agency created during Yanukovych tenure Vladyslav Kaskiv claimed that he was not apprehended in Panama. According to him, Panama’s Migration Service invited him for an interview to ascertain his immigration status when he was crossing the border with Costa Rica.

As reported by Censor.NET, Kaskiv wrote in his blog on Ukrainska Pravda.

"I have been watching various officials trying to explain false reports about my arrest in Panama for several days now. Not to thicken the plot, I inform that nothing of what the Ukrainian officials have said is true. I was detained nowhere. Moreover, I was never arrested either in Panama or anywhere else. The Interpol notice regarding me does not exist," Kaskiv said.

"The reason for the allegation was just ascertaining of my immigration status by Panama's Migration Service at the border with Costa Rica, where I planned to travel to with my friends and family. Why Panama? Because Panama, Costa Rica, and Jamaica are the countries I had planned to visit during summer vacation," he added and posted his picture with a Panamanian policeman. The image shows Kaskiv holding a newspaper, probably to show that the image is fresh. However, it is impossible to see the date on the newspaper as the image is blurred.

Later, the Spanish side stated it did not know the person who had signed the contract on its behalf. The man's name turned out to be Jordi Sarda Bonvehi, a ski instructor from the Barcelona region.
