4,000 fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the National Police and the military reserve took part in the march, together with veterans of the anti-terrorist operation in the east of Ukraine. More than 200 units of military equipment cruised along Ukraine's main street.

Many thousands of people came to support the Ukrainian military and celebrate the Independence Day. Many families wore Ukrainian traditional embroidered shirts - vyshyvankas - or blue and yellow clothing, in colors of the Ukrainian flag.
