Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov wrote on Facebook.
According to him, the officers were making records of a road accident on Kiltseva Doroha (Kyiv beltway). The scene was marked by cones and could be easily seen from a considerable distance.
"The male patrol officer is lucky, he's got his arm broken and some other injuries. The condition of the female officer is grave. She is being operated, doctors are struggling for her life. She's got an open fracture of the femur and tibia of one leg, an open fracture of the femur of other leg. She is conscious, intubated and anesthetized," Butusov explained.
The culprit is Illia V. Marynin, born Nov. 7, 1982 in the city of Khabarovsk, Russia.
"Illia loves to get drunk behind the wheel. He doesn't have a driver's license as he was deprived of it earlier over drunk driving - this is not his first offense. He's got a temporary license and drives boozed up over again. A breathalyzer test shows rather heavy intoxication - 2.41 permille at the allowed limit of 0.2 permille. He believes he will get away with it. His relatives arrived at the scene and tried to justify him. They are also trying to prevent him from being taken for examination. No way!
"God bless the girl! She's got severe injuries. How shall we punish the culprit? A fine and a house arrest? We [Censor.NET - ed.] will cover this process, I hope the scoundrel will take the most. Later, I'll report about the condition of the female officer, she'll need help.
"I've decided we should make these individuals known so that normal people stay away from them. They have to be stigmatized in order to not let a judge mitigate the punishment, to prevent them from ever getting back their driver's licenses, to teach them a lesson. We'll launch a special page on Censor.NET, featuring information about drivers-drunkards. For all their relatives, friends, colleagues and employers to know," Butusov summed up.
