The stocks of poor and spoiled food were found during inspection of the food warehouses, refrigerators, and vegetable storage. All food supplies were stored in unsanitary conditions, with storage temperature requirements also violated.
The defense minister held a brief meeting with the caterers and stressed that the ministry would take measures to immediately eradicate discovered deficiencies, while contracts with companies supplying poor food will be terminated through legal action due to violation of terms of these agreements.
In addition, the minister of defense of Ukraine instructed the Odesa garrison military police head to check all activities of the military unit and promptly report the results. The officials responsible for the food control have been brought to disciplinary responsibility. One of the officers in charge of the military unit's logistics has been dismissed.
The Center for Provisioning Development and Maintenance inspected five military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the last week. The checks will continue until the caterers start fulfilling the terms of supply and food storage conditions.
