Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the SBU.
The statement reads: "A specialized state-owned enterprise has received funds from the state budget for the purchase of medical equipment and the completion of the children's hospital construction in 2012-2014. In order to fulfill these tasks, the officials concluded a contract with a private company. The law enforcers have found that the entrepreneurs colluded with officials and overstated the cost of the equipment and services by 9.2 million hryvnia (about $368,000).
The Security Service officers together with the police raided the premises of six suspects, one of whom was still an acting official. The law enforcers seized documents, seals and other evidence proving the misappropriation of public funds allocated for the needs of the children's hospital.
The criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 2 of the Article 364 and Part 5 of the Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is underway.
