Spokesperson to Prosecutor General Larysa Sarhan wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET informs.
"First Deputy Head of the State Employment Service of Ukraine Mykhailo Bardonov has been detained while receiving a regular part of a bribe in the amount of 100,000 hryvnia (about $4,000) at 1:20 a.m. July 16 during a special operation carried out by operatives of the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine in conjunction with the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine. The money received in bribe was seized during the search," she wrote.
"The place of residence of the head of the mentioned service was also searched. A total of 10 raids are being carried out in this case," Sarhan informed.
The SBU press service later informed that Mykhailo Bardonov was extorting 100,000 hryvnia monthly from a businessman in exchange for granting his company permits to carry out expert examinations in the field of occupational safety.
The law enforcement officers seized $153,000 in cash, six expensive watches, and jewelry during search at Bardonov's place of residence.
