Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on Twitter, Censor.NET reports.
"The National Police will get 651 Mitsubishi Outlander SUVs instead of old UAZ cars under the Kyoto Protocol," the minister wrote.
According to him, the joint group of the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine approved a project for replacement of current police vehicles with hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric) crossovers on July 7.
"So, Ukrainian policemen, you will receive 651 new and unique modern powerful eco-friendly hybrid Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV crossovers. The people of Ukraine hopes that you will be worthy of this innovation! Serve with honor," Avakov summarized.
The innovative Plug-in Hybrid system that powers the Outlander PHEV delivers remarkable eco efficiency without compromising comfort, performance or convenience.
A highly efficient 2.0L MIVEC petrol engine paired with high output 60kW twin front and rear motors and a high capacity 12kWh drive battery can produce a combined fuel economy of 1.9L/100km.
It can be driven up to 50km a day in EV mode when fully charged, with zero level of emissions.
