Head of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) Nazar Kholodnytskyi has arrived in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

This is reported by Censor.NET's correspondent.

Kholodnytskyi said he personally brought the request for indictment, detention, and arrest of the member of parliament Oleksandr Onyshchenko to the office of the Verkhovna Rada.

He also demonstrated the request with stamps of the Rada's Administrative Office. According to Kholodnytsktyi, now that the request has been registered in the parliament, it depends on the MPs.

Answering a question on where Onyshchenko might be at the moment, the head of the SAP said: "The law stipulates for absolute immunity for people's deputies, no one has the right to monitor them or to conduct surveillance, because it is illegal; so now he is free to move wherever he wants.... Some say he is in Ukraine, others say he's in Monaco now."

Kholodnytskyi also thanked Prosecutor General Lutsenko for timely drafting of the documents.

Earlier, NABU searched MP Onyshchenko's formal chamber on June 15. NABU Head Artem Sytnyk explained that the agency was carrying out 37 raids in three cities as part of the criminal case filed into corrupt practices with gas sale. 10 people were detained under this case.

The large scale embezzlement and creation of a crime ring inflicted damage to the state in the amount of almost 3 billion hryvnia. The investigators suspect this crime ring to be run by Onyshchenko.
