The Crimean Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia) have seized and destroyed more than 15 tons of sanctioned fruit imported into the peninsula from Poland and Spain.

Censor.NET reports citing the authority's press service.

The Republic of Belarus is said to be the importer, according to the results of examination.

"Pursuant to the requirements of the Presidential decree No. 391 of July 29, 2015, the prohibited for import and sale fruit have been bulldozered in the Simferopol landfill," the report notes.
