Defense Attaché of Latvia to Ukraine Lt. Col. Zigmunds Balodis, who personally took part in the final stage of the training course, stressed that the Latvian party was proud of the opportunity to assist the Ukrainian partners in better occupational awareness training of its noncommissioned personnel along with the other NATO member-states.
"The combat training is an ongoing process and only a small part of what you can obtain from foreign partners, your own experience and the one of your fellows-in-arms. We believe and we are convinced that Ukraine will win!" he said.
In turn, Deputy Head on Personnel Administration of the 184th Training Center Lt. Col. Volodymyr Bezborodov thanked the foreign instructors.
"The occupational awareness training of the noncommissioned personnel is among the top priorities of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the state authorities. The new requirements for training of noncommissioned officers are being introduced now. A noncommissioned officer should become a reliable assistant to an officer and an example for one's subordinates after all. The most efficient system of training and operation of small unit leaders of our troops is the one that exists in the Armed Forces of the NATO member-states. The experienced military experts from Latvia have definitely helped us to achieve these high standards and we remain ever so grateful to them for that," the member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said.
24 Ukrainian instructors obtained the appropriate certificates upon completion of training.
