Lutsenko's press secretary Larysa Sarhan wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"At this very moment, an unscheduled inspection of the SBU's jail is underway. Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko asked Ombudsman Valeriia Lutkovska and Head of the SBU Vasyl Hrytsak to check one of the detention centers in response to the statement by UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Šimonović about tortures in Ukraine by both militants and the SBU," she noted and published several photos.
As previously reported, Šimonović in an interview with The Times said that Ukraine is implementing a torture program against pro-Russian militants. The Security Service, in turn, denied Šimonović's allegations of tortures against detained terrorists.
