Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the press service of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine.
"BTR-4 was developed by Kharkiv's Morozov design bureau. The armored vehicle continues being improved. The design bureau members keep carrying out experiments, installing different engines, additional equipment, and various types of weapons. The APC's platform is also used for creation of special versions designed to perform non-combat missions: the National Guard was supplied with APCs developed for evacuation of the wounded and their delivery to a place where they could receive treatment. They do not have weapons installed but are more spacious to accommodate medical equipment. The National Guard was also supplied with ARVs (armored recovery vehicles) designed to repair and evacuate damaged or unfightable hardware," the statement reads.
Senior Lecturer of the Department of maintenance and repair of cars and combat vehicles, Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Kashpur took part in water tests of the advanced APC BTR-4. The Tests were conducted at Saltiv reservoir.
"Following the test, I can say that the armored vehicle has successfully passed it. The unique feature of this APC is that it is easily prepared for sailing and it is quite fast and maneuverable on water. We have tested its launch with the angle of 25 degrees and it has easily coped with this task. This is a very powerful armored vehicle and the best part is that it is produced in Ukraine," Kashpur said.
