The captured modification was put in service with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2003.

Censor.NET reports citing the press center of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff.

"In an engagement with a recon and sabotage group of the enemy, a latest infantry flamethrower MRO-A, in service with the Russian Federation Armed Forces since 2003, has been captured.

"The flamethrower is thermobaric and aimed for defeating with high-temperature and excessive pressure fields in residential facilities, industrial buildings, defense constructions, as well as of cars and lightly armored vehicles," the ATO Staff explained and posted images of the trophy.
