Information about the farewell ceremony was posted on the Facebook page of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.

"The battalion commander who did not return from the battlefield. Andrii Zhuk was commander of 3rd Battalion of 72nd Mechanized Brigade. The previous commander entrusted the battalion to him despite his relatively young age - 32 years. Andrii skillfully led the battalion in the darkest periods of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He fought at Starobesheve, Petrivske, Starohnativka, having distinguished himself as a strong, courageous and decisive leader. Andrii was born in the Khmelnytskyi region, but lived with his family in Kyiv. Bypassing the units, the commander first saw shadows behind the trees and gave a command to stop. The soldiers and the battalion commander dismounted and took up defensive positions, but the forces were unequal. A militants' sabotage and reconnaissance unit has already been waiting in the ambush. The battalion commander took over the enemy's fire, which saved the life of the soldiers. ETERNAL MEMORY TO YOU, COMMANDER!!!," the Brigade's address reads.
