President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Portugal António Luís Santos da Costa in the course of the working visit to Turkey.

The head of state expressed gratitude to the government of Portugal for consistent support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty in the framework of the EU and international organizations, Censor.NET reports citing the president's press office.

During the discussion of the developments in the Donbas, the president has drawn attention to the lasting violation of the Minsk agreements by Russia. He urged Portugal to endorse the deployment of the OSCE armed police mission in the Donbas.

Petro Poroshenko expressed belief that a large Ukrainian community in Portugal would remain an important factor of friendly relations between the two countries. He emphasized that the introduction of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU in the nearest future would become another step towards the enhancement of Ukraine-Portugal interpersonal contacts.

The parties noted great opportunities for the improvement of cooperation in economic sector.
