National Patrol Police has started working in Sloviansk and Kramatorsk (Donetsk region) today, May 14.

The solemn oath ceremony was attended by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Chief of the National Police Khatia Dekanoidze, head of the Donetsk Regional State administration and other officials, Censor.NET reports citing the Тwitter of the president.

"Congratulations to officers of the patrol police of the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk with adoption of the oath! Glory to Ukraine!.. The new patrol police are the face of a new generation of Ukrainians, the future of our country!" the president said.

"I believe that every police officer will adhere to the words of the solemn oath. The high trust of the people to the new police should be cherished!" he added.

Poroshenko stressed that the launch of the patrol police in the Donbas is of fundamental national importance.

"14 new patrol officers in the Donbas are former combatants who risked their lives to protect our country from Russian aggression. I thank those who have remained faithful to the oath, those who keep the defense on the front-line and provide law and order in the border zone," he added.

"Nothing can stop us in defending peace and tranquility in the Donbas. The new patrol police of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk is the key to this!" the president said.
