Requiem for those killed in the Odesa House of Trade Unions May 2, 2014 was scheduled to be held on Kulykove Pole in Odesa on Monday around 2 p.m. However, an unknown individual reported that a bomb was planted on Kulykove Pole around 8 a.m. Monday.
Representative of the Public Relations Department of the National Police Main Directorate in the Odesa region Daria Yarchuk said that the bomb experts were examining the square in this regard. The law enforcers deny access to Kulykove Pole.
According to Dumskaia news outlet, the people who have gathered near the square stoke up the war of words with the law enforcement officers from time to time. The people with flowers are trying to break through the cordon and get to Kulykove Pole but to no avail. They put the flowers right in front of the police officers.
It should be reminded that 48 people were killed and more than 200 were injured during clashes between the pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian activists in Odesa May 2, 2014. Most of the victims died as a result of the arson in the House of Trade Unions on Kulykove Pole, where the pro-Russian activists ' camp was located. However, the first victims of the clashes were the pro-Ukrainian activists who were killed by gunfire near Hretska Ploshcha (one of the main squares of Odesa - Ed.).
